Local Priorities

Drug misuse and anti social behaviour

Issued: 28 Feb 2026

Status Update

Over the next three months, the neighbourhood policing team will focus on addressing drug use and the impact it has on the community, following clear concerns raised through recent feedback. We will target areas where drug activity is linked to anti-social behaviour, vulnerability and wider criminality, using proactive patrols, enforcement activity and intelligence-led interventions to disrupt offenders, protect those at risk and improve confidence in the areas most affected.

Drug misuse and anti social behaviour

Issued: 30 Nov 2025

Status Update

Over the next three months, we’re prioritising action on drug misuse and parking problems in our community. This includes tackling vehicles causing obstruction, inconsiderate parking, and addressing areas linked to drug-related activity. You’ll see more high-visibility patrols in key locations, targeted checks on vehicles, and enforcement against those breaking the law. We’ll also work in partnership with local authorities and community organisations to improve safety and keep our streets clear and secure for everyone.

Members from the community have raised concerns around drug misuse, street drinking and anti-social use of vehicles. These involve persons gathered on street corners drinking alcohol, the signs and smells of drug misuse and vehicles such as e-scooters and motorbikes being used anti-socially.

Issued: 28 Aug 2025

Status Update

Officers will focus on these concerns over the next three months by actively addressing behaviours that cause harm, distress, or disruption to residents and businesses. This includes visible drug misuse, alcohol consumption in public areas, intimidation, noise nuisance, and disorderly conduct. Our approach combines high-visibility policing, targeted enforcement, and community engagement to create safer, more respectful environments.
